Bunch Grape Webinar Series
The monthly Bunch Grape Webinar Series will focus on the basics of bunch grape management in North Carolina with viticulture experts throughout the US. Open to Growers and Extension Agents. Registration is free but required
Our first webinar will be “Site and Cultivar Selection”, February 19th, 2025, 12 – 1 pm. Our guest presenters for "Site and Cultivar Selection" will be Cain Hickey, Assistant Teaching Professor of Viticulture at Penn State, and Tremain Hatch, Viticulture Research/Extension Associate at Virginia Tech and Virginia Vineyards Association’s Grower of the Year. Our March webinar will be, “Building a Nutrition Management Program”, March 19th 12 – 1:30 pm. Our presenters will be Jagathi Kamalakanthan, Soil Agronomist with NCDA, John Havlin, Professor of Soil Science and Extension Specialist at NCSU, and Justin Scheiner, Assistant Professor and Extension Viticulture Specialist. During this webinar we will learn how to interpret soil and foliar test results from the NCDA, how to incorporate fertilizers per recommendations, and the practical application for vineyard nutrition management. Vineyard Spray Program Design - Henderson

Join us for an interactive workshop that will focus on navigating the many available resources to Southeastern grape growers to build an effective pest and disease management spray program. Be prepared to work in group settings to design spray programs within specific examples. At the end of the workshop, we plan for you to walkaway with an example spray program and the knowledge to adapt it each year to your own vineyard. Please bring your laptop if you have one. Pesticide recertification credits available.

Vineyard Sprayer Calibration Workshop

All-day vineyard sprayer calibration workshop that will be led by Gwen Hoheisel, Washington State University (WSU) extension specialist. She has conducted sprayer assessment studies to help winegrape growers better understand sprayers commercially available in Washington state, nozzle technologies and best management practices. She holds annual sprayer calibration workshops for Washington State winegrape growers and has created Extension material for Washington State University Viticulture Extension Program. This workshop will be interactive with presentations and sprayer demonstrations.
Registration will be $25 and includes lunch. Open to Growers and Extension Agents.

Fifth Annual Eastern Viticulture and Enology Forum Webinar Series
The fifth edition of the Eastern Viticulture and Enology Forum (EVEF) webinar series is a collaborative effort between the Penn State Extension Grape and Wine Team and the following land grant institutions: Eastern Viticulture and Enology Forum Series (EVEF) is a collaborative effort between the Penn State Extension Grape and Wine Team and viticulture and/or enology Extension programs from the following U.S. land grant institutions: Colorado State University, Cornell University, University of Georgia, Iowa State University, University of Maryland, Michigan State University, University of Minnesota, North Carolina State University, Ohio State University, and Rutgers University, Texas A&M University, University of Vermont, Virginia Tech, and University of Wisconsin. As part of the Eastern Viticulture and Enology Forum Webinar Series, this session is a collaborative effort between these viticulture and enology extension programs coordinated for grape growers and winemakers.
